In Act 3, players will need to exit DDLC and return to the Metaverse Enterprise Solutions desktop. During Act 2, players can make any decision, as this does not affect the final result.
This means that the three poetry-making sections only need to be attempted once (or even twice, but not three times) and players only need to choose either Yuri or Natsuki to spend the weekend (not both). To get the normal ending, players must go through all of Act 1 of DDLC as presented without rebooting and trying new results. For the most part, DDLC is the same as the first edition of Doki Doki Literature Club, with some adjustments for console limitations. Every time players load the game a second time, they will need to enter the DDLC application from the top of Windows style.
Unlike the original release, Doki Doki Plus Literature Club reformulates the main game as a virtual machine simulation titled DDLC.
